We love when clients think outside of the box when it comes to the look and feel of their wedding day. Morgan and Ricky hosted the perfect wedding weekend at Skytop Lodge with emphasis on creating an unforgettable experience for their guests. Morgan had a clear vision for the weekend that included modern florals, romantic candlelight, and an epic party room. Each event had it’s own moment in the spotlight and everything was perfectly captured by the couples incredible photographer Kelly Giarrocco.
When guests arrived at the hotel for check in at Skytop Lodge, they were welcomed by personally curated welcome boxes which made their stay even more enjoyable along with numerous activities available on the resort. Bringing family and friends together for this celebration was the most important piece to Ricky and Morgan. In the early stages of planning, they knew that they would have loved ones traveling to attend, so they wanted to kick off their three-day wedding weekend with a welcome party and have the opportunity to catch up and spend quality time together. Morgan and Ricky’s welcome party was classy, casual, and fun. Arriving in all white attire, the guests joined the bride and groom in the Laurel Room for drinks, toasts, hors d’oeuvres, and good company. Morgan wore a gorgeous custom made outfit by Madison Chamberlin that stole the show. We absolutely loved the chic and intimate atmosphere and it was the perfect start to a gorgeous wedding weekend.
On the day of the wedding, guests had the morning to themselves to explore the resort and partake in all of the activities that were available to them. Ricky and Morgan enjoyed a stress free and relaxed morning before meeting in the courtyard for their first look. Having a private first look is a wonderful way to get out all of the pre-ceremony nerves and get a jump start on your photos so you can enjoy your cocktail hour. Wedding attendees were asked to wear all black formal attire, which added a little something extra to the upscale and elegant vibe of the day. The Laurel room was transformed into an elegant ceremony space enhanced with a rich fall color palette of golden yellow, terracotta, ivory, and burgundy. Following a beautiful exchange of vows, guests enjoyed signature cocktails, delicious bites, and live jazz music before making their way into the ballroom for the reception. As they were welcomed inside for dinner, guests were greeted by a breathtaking room lit only by an abundance of candlelight and enhanced by the velvet linens. Guests indulged in an exquisite meal of Sea Bass and Short Rib while listening to heart felt toasts from the parents of the couple. At the end of dinner, Ricky and Morgan gave a thank you toast and directed guests into the next event: the party room. This space was phenomenal and guests jaws hit the floor as they walked in. It had truly been transformed and guests felt as though they were walking into a night club complete with colorful lighting, palm trees, lounges, and a band that was ready to party. Morgan and Ricky enjoyed their first dance, special dances with their parents, and the hora before sneaking back upstairs to change into their party outfits. Because, really, who wants to dance all night in a heavy dress and long veil? After changing into her party attire designed by Madison Chamberlin, the couple headed back downstairs, ready to party! Guests were given light up favors and sunglasses for the dance floor, and received custom caricature drawings by Alexander Clare. The band and DJ kept guests on the dance floor all night long, and it was a incredible way to end a beautiful day.
